Brian Dodd Sr. - Head Coach
I know something about Brian Dodd. He’s my son-in-law. He knows baseball. More importantly he knows how to guide and motivate young people. He knows how to instill character. He knows that team chemistry nurtures both baseball and human skills. He knows that when balance is achieved, good things happen for teams.

And they did....Read the rest of the story.

Brian Dodd Jr.
Proud brother of Brittney (very good dancer) and son of Brian Sr. and Patty Dodd. Along with Nolan Litke and Chad Whittle, Brian has the longest tenure of the Subia team (since age 13). A 2004 graduate of Desert Vista HS, Brian savored his rivalry with Chad and Chance Hanepen of Ahwatukee rival, Mountain Pointe HS. The 2004

Connie Mack World Series experience is the pinnacle of his baseball career although helping the Subia team win the 2002 U.S. Olympic Tournament was a very exciting moment. Experiencing the Shay Family of Farmington was highpoint. Read more about Brian.

Nolan Litke
Nolan, Nolan, Nolan. The complete package. Baseball skill, ornery, tough yet softly compassionate. “Excuse me for busting your butt.” Also an accomplished soccer player, Nolan could have been a bull fullback or nasty linebacker. As a 2004 graduate of Desert Vista HS and Arizona All State Catcher, he will attend Glendale Community

College with buddy Brian Dodd Jr. We’re sure Nolan cherishes the world’s championship experience, but we’re sure that busting a few catchers at close home plate plays are also memorable highlights. Read more about Nolan.

Trevor Vega
Shy. Quietly potent. Strikes quickly with speed and timely venom. Sneaky power, the unexpected drag bunt. Eyes of focus and purpose. An All State selection out of Skyline High, Trevor can contribute talents at both middle infield and outfield positions and possess some pitching capability. Whether a crucial defensive play, a timely

single, or a walk-off game winning homerun, he typically delivers when the chips are on the line. Better than that…Trevor is an upstanding young man. He will attend Chandler-Gilbert Junior College. Read more about Trevor.

Seth Furmanek
Just 16 years old and an upcoming junior at Mesquite HS, Seth was the youngest Subia player but a significant contributing force. Lookout Fiesta 5A Region. As First Team All Region as a sophomore, Seth hit .425 with 9 homeruns and 52 RBIs. As a Mesquite pitcher he had a 1.163 ERA with 56Ks. He has the rare combination of offensive,

defensive and pitching skills which will undoubtedly be strengthened with two more years of HS Varsity experience remaining. Look for Seth to set the Fiesta Region on fire in 2005. Read more about Seth.

C.J. Retherford
Intensely competitive. That's CJ Retherford. He always wants the ball or the bat at crunchtime. As an infielder, he delivers. As a pitcher, he delivers. At the plate, he delivers. Deceptive power. Drops the drag when least expected. This is a guy you want on your side. As a 2003 graduate of Hamilton HS, Chris was two-time 5A All State (2002, 2003).

As a Freshman at South Mountain CC, he was 2nd Team All Division. And he was selected All Tournament 3rd Base at the Connie Mack World Series. As a 3-year leader on the Subia Team, this was his last year. He returns to SMCC as a sophomore with a bright baseball future ahead. Read more about CJ.

Eric Farris
Quietly outstanding. Quick as a cat. Smooth as a fox. Loyola Marymount University noticed those qualities at the Firecracker Classic in Long Beach and gave Eric a baseball scholarship. Not only a testament to his baseball skills but as a student as well. A graduate of Hamilton HS where he and Subia mates Travis Peep and Brandon Farmer led

Hamilton to the 2004 Arizona 5A State Championhip. As if First Team 2004 5A All State wasn't enough, Eric was also recipient of the distinguished Louisville Slugger Player of the Year and a Rawlings High School All Region selection. On top of that he was a 42 round selection in the MLB draft to Atlanta. Look for great things for Eric as he goes to the next level. BTW...he's not a poker player.

Dan Colella
Lookup catcher in Websters. There's Dan Colella's picture. He's fearless. Gets dirty. Guts, grit and leadership. But there's other sides to Dan. Some you can't help but notice. Like a continuous smile. Laughter and humor. Always polite. Then there's the side only blues behind the plate know. The way he can control a game diplomatically. He doesn't

insult umpires. He schmoozes them. "What is your strike zone sir?" I'll be right back. I'll tell'em where you want'em". He'll be a senator one day. That works. Particularly along with defensive skill, clutch offense and power. A 2004 graduate of Highland HS where he was All Fiesta Region three times. An All Connie Mack World Series Team selection. He now takes his talents to South Mountain CC where he'll join Subia mates CJ Retherford and Chad Whittle.

Andrew Darr
Beyond baseball skills. Andrew represents the “lighter-side of baseball” with humor, wit and team chemistry personality. Definite leadership qualities here. As a first-year member of Subia Baseball, Andrew was instrumental in getting Subia to the Connie Mack World Series where his contributions made an impact. A graduate of Mesquite

HS where he played varsity for three years completing his senior year with a .471 batting average and 2nd in RBIs in the state. Andrew now advances to Chandler-Gilbert CC where he’ll join Subia teammates Brandon Thompson, Brandon Farmer and Trevor Vega. There, we’re sure Andrew will “loosen up” his teammates. He knows how to enjoy baseball. That’s Andrew.

Brandon Farmer
Movie star looks, constant smile. He pitches a pretty mean game too. Brandon was a four-year letterman out of Hamilton HS with proud bragging rights to back-to-back state championships in 03, 04. He pitched a gem in the 2004 state final against Gilbert High. He reminds Brandon Thomson kinda often. The "Punisher" was named 1st Team All

Region, and chosen to the Top 50 All Stars, and is a three-year Subia veteran. His keen sense of humor and baseball skills now advances to Chandler-Gilbert CC where he'll join Subia mates Andrew Darr, Brandon Thomson and Trevor Vega. But...Brandon, you gotta put some shape to the brim of that lid.

Travis Peep
Ethics, consideration and education above all else. Travis just happens to have a lot of baseball skill as well. National Honor Society, academically in the upper 5% of his class and a career interest in sports medicine or orthodontia. Back-to back 5A State Champions (03, 04) at Hamilton HS. First Team All Region, 2nd Team All State and 1st

Team All East Valley by the Arizona Republic. And, Travis returns to Hamilton for his senior year where he’s sure to make an even greater impact in both academics and baseball. Travis is the one with the really, really blonde hair. A jovial young man that carries himself with respect, character, confidence and focus. Whatever he does, he does with passion. That’s Travis Peep.

Chance Hanepen
Happy-go-lucky, focused and an exceptionally pleasant young man. That’s Chance Hanapen. All-around baseball versatility, intent on education. Chance underwent shoulder surgery after the West Regionals and unfortunately wasn’t able to play in the Connie Mack World Series. A 2004 graduate of Mountain Pointe HS where he and

Chad Whittle enjoyed “bragging right battles” against neighborhood rival Desert Vista HS and Subia mates Brian Dodd and Nolan Litke. Chance was a three-year varsity letterman, was All Region 3rd Base (2003) and All Region Utility (2004). An enjoyable three-year Subia veteran, he will attend Arizona Western College where his baseball career and education aspirations continue.
